Wineries Around Birmingham

Birmingham, Alabama is a great place to live or visit. There are museums, botanical gardens, historic sites, a zoo, and so much more. But if you want to do something a little off the beaten path, consider a trip to the local vineyards along the little-known Alabama wine trail. A day trip visiting various wineries is a great way to spend a birthday or celebrate an engagement or big promotion.

Ozan Vineyard & Cellars

Start your journey a little before lunchtime on a charter bus Birmingham AL and ride it 30 minutes to the city of Calera and the Ozan Vineyard & Cellars run by the Patrick Family since 2005. Enjoy an excellent Mediterranean style meal at the Café Vino on site. Wash down your lunch with a glass or two of their Norton grape red wine.

Corbin Farms Winery

Continue a short way down the road to Corbin Farms Winery for a pint of wine ice cream and 6 tastings for $10. This family-owned winery offers tours, a lovely patio and live music. You may just want to stay here for the rest of the afternoon.

Bryant Vineyard

Make Bryant Vineyard on the shores of Lake Logan Martin in Talladega the next stop of your wine tour. On this beautiful piece of land sits the oldest continuously operating winery in Alabama. Not only can you sample their award-winning muscadine wines, but you can also pick fresh fruits and vegetables to take home with you.

Morgan Creek Vineyards

Circle back towards Birmingham with a final stop at Morgan Creek Vineyards. Amble down the wine trail to see the grapes used for their self-proclaimed “niche” muscadine and fruit wines aged to Alabama perfection.
